Your music, tucked into the notch.

Resound brings a Dynamic Island-style now-playing controller to Mac: artwork, waveform motion, playback controls, hotkeys, and a quiet menubar presence.

Requires macOS Sonoma or later. Works with Spotify and Apple Music.

Resound

A small app with a sharp job.

Resound stays out of the dock and gives music controls a dedicated place at the top of the screen, close to where your attention already lands.

01
Dynamic Island pill
Collapsed now-playing state expands on hover into transport controls and track details.
02
Spotify and Music
Reads playback state from Spotify and Apple Music using native macOS scripting hooks.
03
Artwork and progress
Shows album art, elapsed time, remaining time, and an at-a-glance progress bar.
04
Waveform styles
Compact visualizers make the pill feel alive without taking over the screen.
05
Global hotkeys
Bind play, pause, next, previous, and island toggle shortcuts from the settings panel.
06
Native menubar
Quick controls live in a real macOS status menu with settings and quit always available.

Install in a minute.

Download the DMG, move the app to Applications, and clear quarantine if macOS flags the unsigned build.

01
Open the DMG
Launch the downloaded installer and drag Resound into Applications.
02
Start Resound
The app runs as a menubar utility and does not keep a dock icon around.
03
Allow the app
If macOS blocks launch, remove the quarantine attribute from the installed app.
Terminal fallback
Use this only if macOS blocks the local unsigned app build.
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Resound.app

# Then open Resound from Applications

Questions before it lives in your menu bar.

Resound is intentionally narrow: a fast Mac utility for music presence and control.
